My Background
Personal Profile
I am a Palestinian researcher, activist, and leader. Currently a rising senior at Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service, majoring in International Economics, and a Masters of Science candidate at the University College Dublin (UCD) in Sustainable Development. My activism took a significant turn as a delegate for the Youth Climate Champion Team at COP28, where my advocacy brought about the struggles of Gaza to the forefront of international dialogue, demanding sustainable and inclusive policies. I was a part of the founding team of the Climate Alliance for Palestine (CAP) post-COP28, but beyond my activism, my academic pursuits have provided me with a strong framework to dissect the issues of climate justice, gender, economic development, and anti-colonialism. My contributions to international forums, including the United Nations General Assembly, and collaborations with global NGOs, underscore my commitment to fostering informed climate policies that reflect the needs of marginalized communities.
I recently won the Davis Project for Peace Prize, enabling me to leverage digital education tools to aid Gazan evacuees, and continuing my work through programs and internships at Education Above All (EAA), Qatar Foundation (QF), The Wellbeing Project, Slow Factory, and others.
In addition to my environmental advocacy, my projects with the Young Arab Feminist Coalition focus on decolonization through a feminist and environmental perspective. My participation in various international forums, including the United Nations General Assembly 78th session with the UAE Presidency’s International Youth Climate Delegate Program (IYCDP) and the Feminist Peace and Security program with FES and GIZ, attests to my contributions to climate and human rights discourse. Currently, I am a research fellow at Slow Factory focusing on media justice and full-spectrum resistance, working to highlight local changemakers' perspectives, and I am organizing and working with multiple organizations to support the Gazan evacuees and Palestinians on the ground struggling under the occupation and post-evacuation.
